Laura Cabeza Pérez hold a PhD in Political Sciences from the University of Cologne, Germany, where she is currently Senior Research Associate at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics. She comes from Spain, where she graduated in Sociology (University of Barcelona) and obtained her master’s degree in Politics and Democracy (UNED). She is Specialist in Applied Social Research and Data Analysis (CIS) and she has participated in several research projects designing and analysing public opinion surveys at different Spanish institutions, such as the Instituto de Estudios Sociales Avanzados (IESA-CSIC) and the University of Deusto. Currently, her research focuses on political parties and voting behaviour in multilevel electoral settings. Since 2010, she is member of the research team of the Regional Manifestos Project, a project that uses quantitative content analysis of election manifestos of political parties to estimate their policy positions in regional elections. During the last eight years, she has been collecting, coding and analysing election manifestos to contribute to create an original dataset to analyse party competition at the regional level.
